How to play

  • The board is six rows of five tiles. Spell a five-letter word on the on-screen keyboard and press ENTER to guess.
  • Each letter is marked: green is in the word and in the right place, gold is in the word but somewhere else, dark is not in the word.
  • The keyboard carries the same marks, so a letter you have ruled out stays ruled out.
  • Pressing ENTER on a row that is not a real word does not use up a guess. Your letters stay put, so fix them with DEL.
  • Typing is faster. Look at the board - a ring and a typing tab appear - and type your whole guess as one line in chat. It fills the current row and submits it. If the line is not five letters, or is not a real word, it flashes red for a second and costs nothing.
  • Each new word is picked at random, so there is no daily word to share.

Scoring

  • Guess counts the guesses you have used on this word, and Best is your fewest guesses in a win.
  • Fewer guesses is better: winning in 1 beats winning in 6.
  • A loss is not recorded against you.
